Home Visit Requests

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have equipment and facilities to provide examination, we do appreciate this is not always possible.

If you require a home visit, please contact the practice as early as possible before 9:30 am. Our Care Navigation Team will ask for a description of your symptoms.

Your request for a visit will be passed to the doctor who will assess the need for a visit. The doctor will determine if there is a clinical need for a home visit and may call you to discuss your symptoms in more detail before attending.

You may require a home visit if you are:

  • Housebound
  • Terminally ill
  • Elderly/Frail

Lack of transportation is not a reasonable indication for a home visit. One of our clinicians may be able to manage your symptoms over the telephone or by arranging an appointment for a later date (providing you are not experiencing a medical emergency).

Life threatening emergencies are best treated by the hospital and you may be advised to call 999.
